WHAT MAKES OCEANIA SO SPECIAL:
She was the fourth kitten born and the only girl.
She is the fastest and most accomplished climber and jumper.
She is the perfect mix of both parents – the face of her mum and the strength of her dad.
She loves her food – both wet and dry. She is really well litter trained.
She often tilts her head ever so slightly when looking at you – just like her mum.
She’s very gentle and sweet too.

OCEANIA (NOW WILLOW) AND BALTIC (NOW WALTER) ARE ENJOYING LIFE TOGETHER IN THEIR NEW HOME
Their owners continue their story:
3 months old – Day 1:
Willow had a couple of quite vocal moments in the car but happily settled down once we were at home.
They both came straight out the carrier and have been starting to explore. They are now curled up on the chairs under the dining table like in you house seems to be a favourite spot.
“Once again we are so happy to have them and we couldn’t have asked for them to have come from a nicer family.”
3 months old – one week later:
Their personalities are really starting to show through.
Willow is a little dare devil and so inquisitive. Willow took to the water fountain straight away, but Walter likes to put his two front paws in and get wet.
Both love to monitor the cleaning of their litter tray and they are very keen to ensure it’s done correctly.
They’ve been inundated with visitors and have been spoilt rotten with toys too.
They are becoming more confident each day and my husband has even been treated to Willow asleep on his lap for a good hour yesterday.
W&W have settled in very well. They now have the full run of the house and are getting up to all sorts of mischief.
Willow blending nicely with our sofa! Willow – she sleeps anywhere! Willow – watching the birds Walter and Willow – Double trouble!
“W&W have settled in very well. They now have the full run of the house and are getting up to all sorts of mischief.
We are absolutely delighted with them the joy they have given us in just a short amount of time.”
4 months old – one month later:
Laps Floor Legs
“Willow doesn’t have quite so much to say, I think half the time Walter talks for her. She’s still exploring. This week alone she’s scaled some curtains and I found her being a trapeze artist on the curtain pole!
She also loves spiders so now that autumn is coming I’m very pleased she can catch them for me. “
5 months old – two months on
Sassy Relaxing Eyes
“October seems to have seen huge growth spurts for W&W. Walter now weighs 2.7kg, and Willow is not far behind at 2.5kg. So both are developing really really well.”
Their early socialisation is evident. We had a family party for my husband’s 50th last weekend, and had a house full with 20 guests. They didn’t run and hide, just revelled in the attention. Everyone thought they were gorgeous 😻.
They have a wonderful morning routine. With my husband up first, they are let out of the kitchen where they sleep at night. First upstairs is Walter, announcing his arrival and walking all over (& under!) the duvet. Once I’ve been paid a visit it’s onto the boys for the same to be repeated.
Willow is more stealth like. Jumping up to see us is normally a surprise as you just don’t hear her coming. She loves to walk all over you and pounce on your toes!
Then it’s breakfast, a mad half hour of play and then a good sleep once the boys have left for school & college.
6 months old – three months on
Playful Willow Inquisitive Beautiful eyes
“November saw their first venture into the back garden”.
Walter took quite a long time to come out of his hiding place under the patio furniture.
Willow was far braver, with little adjustment needed and before we knew it she was chasing leaves. She’s definitely the leader and Walter just follows!
The December instalment will all be about the Xmas tree. So far they’ve not climbed it, but are loving the baubles 😊
7 months old – four months on:
..and relax Sunny spot Snuggly stretch
“Walter and Willow have been very sociable – getting fully involved with our guests and they were still going strong at 3am when our NYE visitors left 😂😂.”
The Christmas tree proved to be hours of fun, and presents had to stay firmly hidden until the last moment as Walter has developed a liking to unwrapping any sort of packaging.
They’ve loved having a full house and don’t want the boys to return to school/college tomorrow. They have had plenty of laps to choose from over the last two weeks.
8 months old – five months on:
Thinking inside the box Nice and dry A moment to put my feet up
“January has seen them venture outside more and they are getting braver by the day.“
They loved the sunshine, chasing leaves and chasing each other in the wind today. In the video below you can see them go – I couldn’t keep up with them!
Our bond with them continue to grow, and we’ve seen a shift in their personalities.
Walter now seems to be the climber and the really cheeky one & Willow watches quietly on the sidelines.
9 months old – six months on:
…and relax… hello! Sshh!
“February has seen Walter and Willow exploring the garden more & growing in confidence.”
Willow’s favourite activity is chasing leaves and I managed to capture this for you.
Walter just loves to be nosey and is into, under and on top of EVERYTHING!!
Walter now weighs 3.8kg and Willow is just behind at 3.7kg.
They always get a kiss and a cuddle from the veterinary nurse when they get weighed for their flea/worming tablets.
10 months old – seven months on:
I am beautiful What’s that? I love the grass
“Walter & Willow have certainly loved everything about March.”
In particular the abundance of Spring sunshine, chasing leaves, bees and the little flies they find in the grass 😂. They are outside more than they are in, but not after dark – they have a curfew!!
They have certainly filled out but I think their growth is slowing down now.
They are not feeling the isolation that we are all feeling right now, but they love the extra attention with our house full at all times. It just means even more cuddles for them.
11 months old – eight months on:
Relaxing On lookout What’s that?
“They’ve loved all the dry weather we’ve been having.“
Spending more time outside than in. Enjoying all the freedom and keeping us company in lockdown.
They’ve discovered the top of the shed is a nice sunny sunbathing spot and love to tease next door’s dog from their high vantage point.
12 months old – nine months on:
Hello I’m cute What’s that?
“More garden fun last month, a little tree climbing, wall balancing, bird watching and fly catching. Add a fair bit of sleeping & eating and life is perfect.”
Now they are 1 we are just starting to gradually change them over to Royal Canin British Shorthair Adult (Dry) food. They love the bigger kibble and it’s keeping them fuller for longer.
I can’t quite believe we are into June, but I’m thankful for the beautiful weather. W&W just love being outside so much, it’s their happy place. We’re not sure how he does it but Walter keeps active ALL day, whereas Willow likes to come in for a sleep under our son’s desk at lunchtime. If he’s studying with his door closed she meows and won’t stop until he lets her in!
13 months old – ten months on:
Look into my eyes This is embarrassing I love that carpet!
“W & W are very glad that hot spell is over.”
It had Walter seeking the coolness of the empty bath, Willow the coolness of our extension roof 😩.
In-fact her climbing abilities have turned into a game. She climbs onto the BBQ, then onto our boundary wall, onto the roof, then through our son’s bedroom window & repeat!! As long as she can climb she’s happy – although not sure it’s good for my nerves!!
Then Walter just looks at her and says “that’s too much effort, I’ll stay down here” 😂.
Willow has another activity she loves to do – help my husband water the plants. Each night she follows him round the garden, catching all the drips from the plants that have been given a drink.
14 months old – eleven months on:
Ready Easy Lounging
“July sees the bond between the boys and these gorgeous two get even closer.”
Walter loves to be with my eldest son, taking up space on his messy bed, or being held up high on his shoulders.
Walter is very close to my eldest son, and Willow is very close to my youngest son. Being a typical young teen he loves to sleep in & she will meow (loudly) outside his bedroom door until he wakes up and lets her in 😂😂.
Once school/college resumes in September they will really miss them 😂.
Walter and Willow are off to a cattery for their own holiday for the last two weeks in Aug. It’s run by my husband’s cousin so we know they will be well looked after & probably spoiled.
15 months old – 1 year on:
Sleepy Relaxed Alert
“We did manage to get away for a holiday the last two weeks of August. As usual once home you hit the ground running and time runs away with you.
They enjoyed their cattery experience and settled back in at home really quickly. Before going they had their annual injections and vet check.”
Both are very healthy with Willow weighing 3.8kg, Walter 4.2kg.
