ROMEO (NOW BOBA) IS ENJOYING LIFE IN HIS NEW HOME
On his first birthday, his owners tell us what its been like having him as part of their family:
I’d always wanted a British Blue.
I’ve always admired their temperament and their distinctive look. We had just got two rescue kittens who had very much attached themselves to my wife and daughter when the Cosmo Valentine litter arrived, and as soon as able we came to see about getting the kitten I’d always wanted.
Michael was excellent about initially showing us the kittens under very well managed Covid conditions. Firstly I visited, meeting the litter and the parents under the stringently-followed Covid guidelines. Then, a few days later, my wife and daughter came, which was a mistake because my daughter wanted to bring two of the litter back.
However, we agreed on Boba, then Romeo, the eldest of the kittens. He wasn’t the biggest, but he had shown that he was curious, cuddly, adventurous, sought attention and fuss, and played well with the others (essential if he was to bond with our other two cats).
After a well managed, Covid secure pickup I collected him, and after a couple of days of settling in he instantly became part of the family.
He immediately bonded with my daughter, who was five at the time, and ever since have firmly been best friends. They are completely inseparable, and he has such a lovely temperament with her. He is patient, he lets her pick him up and carry him around (despite being as big as she is) and he does it with a loving gaze at her throughout.
When they’re not up to making mischief together he is never far from us, and really has become the centrepiece of our family.
He has a warm and cheeky personality and plays with both our other cats, who really have accepted him into the family. My wife has commented that she’s so glad we got all three cats as they’ve all made lockdown bearable.
Boba’s really recovered well from the snip, and it hasn’t changed his personality at all, which we were really hoping to be the case.
He is loving, loyal, soft and fluffy, and there is absolutely no way we’d ever be without our beautiful boy.
